Even though it is not a "singer pro" format, this book was a blessing to those of us looking for more obscure Faith hill songs to perform. The album that spawned this book wasn't well received by the country industry, but fans and reviewers alike quickly noted the strength of the songs in this collection, as well as the challenging vocals executed by Hill. These songs became fan favorites, so it was very nice to find them released in sheet music form. The only complaint I would have is that the piano part tends to double the vocal melody in each song. However, if you have a good pianist, they can improvise to overcome this. This book is a very valuable addition to my collection and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I saw this lovely volume floating around Goodreads for some time before I actually read it. Even then, the elegant title and the enigmatic expression in the heroine's eyes might not have fully tempted me if I hadn't learned some background information on the book. Ingrid, by Lynnette Kraft, features the artwork of her daughter, Abigail Kraft, and music by her son, Jared Kraft.(Unfortunately, since it seems right up my alley, I can't review the music because my Kindle wouldn't download it. So I'll just go ahead and say it was lovely.)In the village of Scot, two children are born on the same day: rich, healthy Adair, son of the most hated man in town, and poor, mute Ingrid of the happy Harrison family. Despite their different backgrounds, the two grow to young adulthood as best friends. But railroads and industry are changing the world, and Scot must change with it. When two strangers come to town, Ingrid must embark alone for a chance to understand herself, uncover the truth, and find her own voice.I wish, wish, wish that I had read Ingrid years ago. It is bursting with heart, lively characters, and adventure, but some treacherous grown-up part of me kept observing, "The fantastical element isn't well-integrated into the story. Kraft doesn't establish the setting. Could she have introduced the railroad earlier?"But alas, all of these things are true. Although I wished I could be friends with the majority of the characters in Ingrid, I couldn't suspend my disbelief on the two magical strangers who were introduced a little too late into a story that felt a little too normal for fantasy. And despite the presence of a railroad and terms like French doors and newspapers, Kraft never specified where and when Ingrid takes place.But as surely as those flaws are true, I must confess that I neglected calculus for a deplorable length of time in order to finish Ingrid. I recommend it highly to those in need of a literary pick-me-up. It is light, enchanting, and welcomingly reminiscent of the books of my childhood.

Very boring. I couldn't get into it. Doesn't seem to have much conflict, which makes for a dull read. I finally gave up and skimmed the rest. I wish I hadn't bought this.Some of the artwork is kind of nice though. I'll add a star for that. I'll add another star, just because I think I'm probably being too harsh. Maybe it's just not my thing. (No offense intended.)

Weird with the magical "Kumbion" creatures. I loved Lynette's last book, "He Heard Hannah," so I thought for sure I'd love anything written by her. But no, this book was just so strange. And like one of the other reviewers said... some of the plot outcomes (who was related to who, etc) were over-the-top, I had to roll my eyes.

A mother, daughter and son have created an amazingly uplifting story whose main character is a mute girl named Ingrid. I have never before bought a book that came with a soundtrack but the music was beautiful and fit the story perfectly. I loved the characters, I loved the story, and I hope another book by this trio is in the future.

The story was good but not profound. I feel like the Hamish character went from good guy to bad guy and back again. I did enjoy the book but it was slightly shallow. Would have liked to see more of God in it.

This is the type of story you would not mind your teenagers reading. Showed how hard work and integrity will lead to success in life.

Wow what a read, was a not to be put down book. Well worth reading.I received it as a free download, but would have happily paid for it.

I'm torn on whether this is a pro or con... if you swapped out God names this could be a Percy Jackson (based on Greek mythology) or Valkyrie (based on Norse mythology) book. My 10-year old daughter and I loved reading Percy Jackson, but by the end of the series we were utterly bored because they were sooooo predictable and cookie cutter. The Valkyrie series changed it up a lot more, added in girl power and we made it through the full series without getting as bored.Had we not read both of these series first, we'd give it at least a 4 or a 5 stars. Although as a Latina I'm really disappointed that a piece of our heritage and culture was depicted in such a Greek mythology Percy Jackson knock-off kind of way.If I didn't know better, I would have assumed this was the same author (it's not) and same series (it's not). As a Latina, I loved the idea that it was about Mayan Gods but the characters are so close to the Greek Gods and do so many of the same things -- (spoiler alert) Gods are always fighting, Gods slept around, hero is a half breed God and human that is bullied and on a quest to find their father while saving the world, father is a major deal kinda god, hero forgives father, saves the world, obliterates the bad guys in an epic battle with his girl side kick. The only difference is that this book has Mexican hot chocolate vs ambrosia. It's so close to Percy Jackson which is based on Greek mythology that it makes me question how authentically Mayan it is. I so wanted to learn something new about Mayan culture. Maybe it was there and I missed it in the cookie cutter way the story line rolled out.

Let me just start by saying it was Rick Riordan who hooked me on this genre. As an adult, though, at some point his writing no longer spoke to me. It just wasn't fresh or new anymore. Enter Cervantes with a fresh voice. I received this book in the mail on a Friday night and had it finished in 24 hours. It is action packed, which kept me reading. Cervantes writing is funny and her characters are like-able. Your root for Zane and Brooks up to the end. I appreciated Zane's insecurity over his lame leg. This is a great read for students who like action and adventure. The Maya mythology and culture was a nice #ownvoices touch.

The Storm Runner is a beautiful novel which takes you on a fantastic journey. You will not be disappointed; I can't wait for the 2nd book. :)

This book! What can I say? I've been waiting all my life to read something like this. I was obsessed with Greek/Roman mythology, and as an adult, I've been a shameless fan of anything Rick Riordan. This book has action, heart, vivid characters, and a goddess of chocolate. I MUST see what Zane does next after that ending!!!!

Zane u dumb dumb boy. You had me experiencing secondhand embarrassment as you continually made wrong choices, until you eventually did a good thing. You followed your heart. And in the end, Rosie was a Good Girl.

While Aru Shah was a great story, The Storm Runner took my breath away. I definitely recommend reading this novel; not only do you pick up lots of Spanish words, you’ll learn Mayan mythology!

I am rather surprised at how highly praised this strategy guide is. This guide is mediocre at best. One big problem I have with this guide is how lazy and unorganized the author is. For example, on page 90, the strategy for winning your first Blitzball game is: "It's very difficult to win this first game, so use this exciting match to learn the basics of blitzball." The author basically didn't bother writing out a strategy on how to beat the Goers team or what you will receive if you do win. I ended up going to GameFAQs and read a walkthrough/FAQ on it, and that author gave a step-by-step strategy on how to beat the Goers; and the match itself really wasn't as impossible as the guide's author made it out to be. In regards to the guide's disorganization, on page 89, there is a little box that reads: "After saving Yuna, return to the area inside the theater lobby to find the Al Bhed Primer vol. VII on the floor to the left." Well the problem with this, is that it takes a very long time in the game from the point you read this box to when you actually have the freedom to go back and get the primer- 3 pages later in the guide. When I finally got control of my characters again in the game, I nearly forgot about the primer, because it was like an hour ago that I read about it. They should have included that box later on in the guide. Lastly, on page 98, the information is incorrect: [spoiler] "if you speak to Gatta twice and choose the second option both times, he will die in the upcoming battle. Any other option will cause Luzzu to die instead." It's actually if you pick the first option twice, Gatta will die, not the other way around. If you can get this guide for under $15 then it's definitely worth the money, but anything over that, I think you're better off just going to FAQs.

Like a lot of the other reviews say, this actually ENHANCES the game! I always talk about how strategy guides can ruin the fun of figuring out the game for yourself, but in this case, the guide actually makes it more fun to play. I do not follow the battle plans, I upgrade my character as I see fit, and that is the large majority of the fun, but when it comes to finding a thing so hidden and time consuming, that would actually frustrate you and likely make things more difficult, I love to use the Guide! Very well written and easy to follow. I purchased the game again recently after not playing it for over 10 years and I knew I had to get this guide because I had it back then, and remember how much more fun I had using it. It is well worth the money and if you are a fan of FF, you should give this a try!

I'm a 55yr old women who has played video games since I was 15? It started with the COLECOVISION and I was hooked! I'm so glad I got this FFX official strategy guide book! I started the game over because I had missed so many key items. Now I'm getting ready to fight SIN, but i still have a few things to do before this fight. also with this guide, I have all AL BHED PRIMER volume's 1~26 or should i say, I~~XXVI. Before i got this guide, I was missing 15 of them, and was in the process of backtracking to find them. Again the guide helps so much, but I'm still struggling with sphere grid, I'ved seen videos on youtube and the characters are at 9,999 HP! and I figure it must be in the grid process? Anyways, you can see how much I love this game!

This is a really good hint manual. It is much less expensive than the newer X/X-2 guide that has released for the HD games. I also read the newer guide is far more condensed. It is older, and no hint guide is ever 100% complete, but this strategy guide covers a lot of stuff I would have had to look up online with my PC while playing the PS4 version of the game. (what a hassle!). So, I saved a lot with this older guide. Nice.

All of the capabilities of all the hirable players are given in addition to 'regular' players.Finally, the book gives you a fold out that illustrates the entire sphere grid. There is a whole section in the book that explains the sphere grid and then gives suggestions on paths you can take each character.Because the book is laid out in sections, you pretty much can look information up on Blitzball players, Weapons, and Beasts without giving away anything 'secret' (there is a whole section on that topic too).The Walkthrough section is divided into a couple sections as well. One is the main or core walkthrough, then there is the walkthrough to access sidequests and also secret items.Given the scope of Final Fantasy X AND the detail given to the creation of this book, I feel that you cannot have one without the other. Ok, if you have LOADS of time to figure out every element of the game yourself, then perhaps you can 'wing it'.
