This was not the only source used to pass boards but served as a very successful tool. I used the book while relocating after graduating from school. My father would drive the penske truck(the only moving truck that should be used to drive across the country) and I would do the questions out of the book. We had 1,938 miles to cover. I used the book from cover to cover. I found a few conflicting questions, overall it helped me pass boards by getting in the right mindset of answering questions. Most importantly it came with rationale. Even if I got the question correctly I would still review the rationale. If your looking at this book your probably preparing to pass boards. I used Apex anesthesia review to study from, After completing apex and their questions, I used this and more questions to check my knowledge on different topics, anything that I missed I would review in Apex, Valley review, or the good old books. I would then do more questions and more questions. I passed my boards the first time and felt confident going in. Good luck!!!
Purchased this product to review for an upcoming exam. The explanations as to why answers were correct or incorrect (which should be very helpful), were totally lacking in useful information. Seemed like 85% of the reference material came from the same anesthesia textbook copyright 2013 (Butterworth). Also, some of the answers provided were simply incorrect due to typographical error or poor proofreading. I am very disappointed in the quality and relevancy of some of the material provided. Better than nothing, but there has to be better review books out there. Update, I had originally given 2 stars but lowered it to 1 star after completing the entire book. Multiple questions were repeated and errors persisted throughout duration of text.
I am currently in a CRNA program, and this book has been helpful in my studies. I like to look at it, as I am studying for a tests. It helps me focus on board-like material. Love it!
Lots of errors --- from highlighting the right answers to the rationales themselves. Overall, good resource as a refresher but not for board review. Not sure why this received good reviews.

I think there may be 2 questions about the oxyhemoglobin curve that are incorrect.On page 72, #180 the question asks what the expected P50 should be when there are increased levels of 2,3 DPG. Well, I was taught that's produces during anaerobic respiration and indicates a low O2 level at the cells, pushing the curve to the right. In the rationale, you correctly wrote that the curve is pushed to the right-- however you said the P50 level would decrease and the answer marked was P50=22. Right shifted curves have a P50 of >27mmHg. So the rationale is correct, but the answer is not.Also, same thing for #183 on page 73. Question asks what the P50 would be of a patient has a temp of 35.2C. So, that would be indicative of hypotermia or at least decreased temperature, which would be a shift to the left. Your rationale says that also, however it says a left shifted curve increases P50, which is not true. Left shifted curves have a P50 level <27mmHg according to all of my books. So your answer states is would be 30mmhg, yet that would be a right shift, not left.Overall though the book is helpful! Hope they can adjust the error.
I am currently studying for boards and purchased this book . This book is unique, as it is the only book I am aware of full of questions and explanations. After exhausting the data bank of questions in prodigy software , it is exactly the supplement I need to continue studying . I will update this review after taking boards ...
