From my family of origin to my romantic life, conflict/boundaries has been interpreted negatively at times and other times I saw fruits, after reading this book I I have implemented new skills to not only have my own boundaries but also encourage security in the person I am confronting heart. If you are looking to confront someone who is difficult and reactive, understanding how to speak to their fear while respecting the heart of the healthy confrontation will create bridges to healing in both of you. Totally worth the read and I couldn't put it down because I knew this coming conversation was going to be hard and love was more important than pride.
A wonderful and extensive read. The authors cover all aspects of this topic from head to toe. No question is left unanswered. There I so much information contained I know I will have to read it again.The illustrations and mock conversations really help you as a reader visualize the authors principles being put into practice.Great book worth your time and investment.
Meh. I read Boundaries and thought it was good, so decided to order this too. It rehashed a lot of the same material, was far too long, and rambled on. They need a better editor. Some decent concepts that could be boiled down into a 30-page pamphlet.
As a 56 year old male I learned a lot. I thought the book well grounded and I wish I had read it years ago. It certainly would have helped some relationship issues
Outstanding book, excellent. The tips and ideas in here really help you navigate hard situations. I have already used them several times and without fail the techniques have worked every time to resolve the conflict and deepen the relationship.
This book help apply the information I learned from the Boundary books. It has great solutions for how to have difficult conversations with maturity and dignity.
Good resource, I bought the audio version as well. Easy to listen to and gives good ways to communicate better. I'm just over half way through the book and part of me wished it had more examples or role-plays but I guess they can't cover every scenario. This is something that will take time and practice. The Boundaries book is good too.
Very helpful information and easy to apply. I am a big fan of all their books, life changing.
